Walter Frere (1863-1938) was one of the leading Anglo-Catholic figures of his day and one of the Church of EnglandÆs most notable liturgists. ááA monk and accomplished musician, he was the first to compile a book of collects and readings for saintsÆ days - the prototype of Exciting Holiness.
